Global Action Network  is a multi-issue animal protection organization that is primarily volunteer-based is a constant hive of activity. Whether we are preparing for a demonstration, organizing a lecture, or meeting with local activists there is never enough time in the day to spread our message of respect and compassion.

With education as the foundation of all of our activities we help animals by:

• staging demonstrations and publicity events
• organizing lectures given by the likes of Ingrid Newkirk, Jeffrey Masson, Paul Watson, and Howard Lyman
• giving lectures on a variety of topics at universities, Cegeps and high schools
• printing and distributing educational literature
• meeting with elected officials, other likeminded organizations and activists
• documenting and exposing cruelty
• getting the facts out to the media through press conferences and media releases

To date we've ended the Granby Zoo's plans to construct a dolphinarium that would have housed 6 dolphins in a concrete tank,rescued pigs from factory farms that were left to die in the winter cold, stopped a bullfight from taking place in Montreal, and convinced two Montreal municipalities to pass bylaws prohibiting the use of animals in circuses - all achieved with the help of dedicated volunteers, donors and activists who care!

Our victories for animals depend on activists who speak out rather than walk away - often with remarkable results - it took only one impromptu meeting with Holt Renfrew to persuade them to remove a fur display from their windows. You too can effect change through a phone call to a designer who uses fur, a letter to your local municipality asking them to ban animal acts in circuses, or a meeting with a politician.
